Greyhounds past and present

Hello world!

Clare here.I have been lucky enough to be born into a greyhound-mad family. My Grand uncle Tom Harty trained two derby winners and devoted his life to his dogs. My father, Joe Kenny has kept greyhounds all his life breeding, racing them and occasionally selling the odd greyhound or two. He also stood some great stud dogs in the past.eg. Vintage Prince, Lodge Prince, Moonshine Bandit,Winsam, Monalee Expert,Aulton Slippy etc.Now I look at the past pedigrees of greyhounds on the wonderful Greyhound data site and I remember old friends/servants that woke me up early in the morning by barking! Some people may be interested in reading about a few of the old-timers(greys) that lived  in the kennels behind our house in my home village of Borrisoleigh when I was growing up. Instead of escaping from it all I married a man who is  working full-time  farming and looking after our own greyhounds and making an excellent job of it(I accept I may be biased). , , , , , , , , , , ,
